IMEI number through J2ME APIs

Hi

I am a pretty novice mobile applications developer.
I am currently trying my hands on the Symbian OS and J2ME platform

I am looking for certain APIs in J2ME through which I can Dial/Hangup a call, get IMEI number of the phone etc...basically i want to write a midlet through which i can do these core things without using the phone keys....bascially access the system information.
Is it possible.?

Most low-level operations cannot be done from a J2ME MIDlet. Many can be done from a C++ app. You can, however, write a C++ server & use socket calls to get data passed from it to a MIDlet.

Hi Skhimsara,

I think u can find almost all the low level api's u r looking , like call Dialing, Getting imei number ...... the main advantage of using J2me is that It can be ported to other developer phones easily.
