I just got ahold of a 6682 (very exciting. faster network & camera has a flash). When I take pictures using python, even if I turn off the flash, the camera still blinks a white light. I need to turn the light off for a school project, it's distracting. Is there any way to do this through Python?

    thanks!

Is the flash actually firing or is it just putting a little light on?

If you use the built in Nokia camera app with the flash off, you'll notice it will still kinda turn on and off the light but not actually 'strobe' the light.

I think (just guessing) it might be part of the auto-focus.

The flash is definitely off. I asked Nokia and they said that you cannot shut off that light but I could check with the development discussion boards as you may be able to do it with code.

    thanks

check the different exposure parameters available to your phone for the take_photo() function; on my 6680, there is "auto", "night", "centered" and "backlight" or something like this. "centered" is the parameter you want to use to disable the backlight.

    Or so I think.

DIdn't work for me. It still went off with exposure=center (! centered). Nokia told me it wasn't possible. This camera has the second camera sans flash on the other side but I really want to use the flash camera.
