[carbide.c++] ecom shape example problem

hi all,

i've imported the ecom-shape example in carbide from build.inf files:

3 different project:
shaperesolver .inf
shapeimplementation .inf
ecomShape .inf (testapp)

all build process works fine, but when i try to launch the app in emulator, the starting process fail and this note is displayed: "Missing Ecom shape"...
i'm confused... what can be my mistake?

and the sdk is "S60_2nd_FP2_CW"...

Hmm. I can't even build these projects inside Carbide at all. I get lots of "illegal use of incomplete struct/union/class 'CShape'" errors. I'll play with it some more and let you know what I come up with.

i tell you what i've done:

i've simply imported the example as three different project (shapeimplementation.dll, shaperesolver.dll and ecomshape.app), and i've checked necessary project references and user include. Doing this i was able to compile without errors all projects (for emulator). but when i run from carbide's emulator ecomshape project, in the applicationDocument constructL method (i've debugged it with breakpoints), the application starting process fails with the message: "Missing Ecom shap"..

another additional information:

if i compile the projects for armi (not emulator), i'm able to make the correct sis file witch run fine on target device...

i'm a bit confused...

I've also imported the ecomshape example to carbide.c++
To compile it I put the shapeinterface.h and shapeinterface.inl in the epoc32/include directorie.
It compiled but the emulator didn't work. It gives the following error:
ERROR: cannot bind to port 3651, error 10048
And it just doesn't open.

I used the s60_2nd_fp3
Suggestions?

Hi!

I've find the solution to my problem... The problem was that shapeinterface.dll and shaperesolver.dll have to be placed in {emulator}/z/system/libs/plugins directory..
My carbide put this files in udeb root dir, and I've to place them "by hand" to correct position. Anyone knows how to correct this problem in project proprieties panel?

Hi, I've fixed my previous problem and put the .dll in the correct place but I still have the same problem you had: "Missing Ecom shap" (using s60_2nd_fp2)

Have you done something more??

Have it really worked well?
I've seen a forum thread where some people say carbide.c++ doesn't offers support to plugins (ecom) is that right?

I really don't know... the problem for me was the dll location..
yes it seems to work very well!

yes olympio, it works both... as usually i had problems with some specific paths (es. pkg file). but finally i was able to run it on emulator and device.
