Turn GSM transmitter radio off on series 60

I would like to turn GSM transmitter radio off on series 60 phone using a programming lanaguage while keeping the phone running a game.

Has anyone done this before?

No published APIs for such, as far as I'm aware.

Would your app users like it if you did such a thing? If they want to do it, they can always switch the phone to the "Offline" profile before starting your (or any) game.
