On a Nokia series 40 like the 3155, is it required that a Java app be signed by Nokia or the operator to be able to pop open the WAP browser from the Java application?
Thanks.

Is only in MIDP 2.0, i.e. platformrequest method, does that device support MIDP 2.0? On series 60, does not require signing, I would look up specs on your device, but must reboot!

Hi stevo999999,
Nokia 3155 has excelent Java capabilities. However, some CDMA operators do not allow us to run Java applications. Make sure this is not your case.

Can you name which ones, in the U.S.?
Also, did you mean they don't allow you to run Java apps at all, or that they don't let you launch WAP from Java?
Hi stevo999999,
I'm not referring to any USA operator, specifically. I live in Brazil and here I'm sure some operators do that and perhaps it could happen overseas as well...
What i said is that they disable/subtract the Java runtime on their devices.
