is it possible to download and save a Java app or ring tone from a Java app?

So, let's say I want to build a Java app for a Series 40 phone. I want people to be able to download content from this application, and complete the entire process from the Java app, such that the content gets placed in the native phone menu, like Applications or Graphics.

Is this possible? Has anyone ever seen a Java app that could do this? Thanks!

Hi stevo,

If the phone for which u r trying to make the application supports JSR 75 (fileconnection)then u will be able to save an image/ringtone to the phone from within ur application.

I don't know whether u can save an application from another application.

Can anyone point to an actual Series 40 application that does this - download a graphic or tone from inside an app? I have yet to see one.
