is there a newer firmware upgrade for the nokia 6230i cause i have the 3.40
and can the nokia 6230i hold a 1gb mmc?

Regarding firmware upgrade please check with the nearest Nokia care center of your region

I have seen in this link that upto 512 mb of MMC is compatible with 6230i
