Autorun application from memory card

Is it possible to create a autorun application placed on the memory card that will start when pluging the card to the device?

Something like autorun CDs for PC....

If so, how?

I am primary interested on auto-runnning a installer for a sis placed on the memory card.

have you tried recognizers, I think system should load them when they detect that new MMC card is inserted. Never tried this though, so not 100 % sure.

I think it's possible,but U will do it for 2 step:

1, run a check_program frist , it check the specific path whether has

something , as ini ;

2, find it and run the program in ini .

I am concerning about this for good idea .

I don't want a server application that will reside in phone's memory and do the check.

I'm concerned in placing a sis somewhere on the memory card and the OS to trigger it's installation automatically.

hi use recognizer as the os will know which app to be invokedafter installation, other that that there is no way except making it foreground for the app.

Yes, it is possible to autolaunch the .sis installer when an MMC card is inserted in Series 60 2nd Edition. I tweaked the sample recognizer code found elsewhere on this forum for my Nokia 6682.

If anyone has done this on S60 3rd edition, I would be very grateful for some info as it isn't going as smoothly for me! Specifically, I'm looking for the correct directories in which to place the .dll and .rsc files as the documentation is a little inconsistent, to say the least.
