Using vibra on S40/3rd N6270

hi everyone

i'm trying to use the vibrator on the S40 n6270/03.66, but it doesn't work:

MIDP: Display.vibrate(int duration)
=> returns true, but doesn't vibrate ...

Nokia API: DeviceControl.startVibra(int freq, long duration)
=> throws IllegalStateException without a message ...

does anybody know the explanation or the solution?
