I'm new to mobile device programming and I wonder if it's possible for a MIDlet to read a file either from memory card or from phone memory, or whatever. I just want to make a dictionary, and I need to store at least 5MB of data somehow - after reading several tutorials, I know, that's at least not obvious, that it's possible. So, what do you say? Would appreciate any help!

    TIA

Now I know my phone doesn't support File Connection API and PIM (JSR-75), so I guess, it would be at least not easy to store such amount of data aywhere on the phone. Heard of RMS - but it can't store too big files too, I think. So, are there any options left for me? Besides buying a phone supporting JSR-75.
    thanks.

You can try keeping the file in "res" folder of your application and retrieve it as resource. I am not sure whether it works or not. You can give a try.
