usage of Midlet.platformRequest

Hi,
I want to use the Midlet.platformRequest (with a specific URL) from the method "startApp" of the midlet.
However, the URL appears for approval only when i exit the midlet.
I am using Nokia 6280 (S40 3rd eddition device).

Can anyone suggest a solution or some workaround for this problem?

On Series 40 phones platformRequest behaves this way. You cannot put you your midlet in the background.
