Can't connect to MetroTRK on 3250 using Bluetooth

Hi,

I installed CW professional eval, downloaded
"CodeWarrior On-Device Debug Kit for Series 60 3rd Edition" from
http://www.forum.nokia.com/main/0,,034-1081,00.html
installed CW_Symbian_3.1.1_Update.exe,
installed S60_App_TRK_2_5.sisx on the device (3250)
and even read the manual OnDeviceDebug Instructions2.pdf.

Then I launched TRK on the device and it connected to
my PC successfully.

I selected the correct COM port in the CW project
settings.

But when I click F5 in CW it displays
"MetroTrkProtocolPlugin : Can't connect to MetroTRK ..."

In the communication log window I see the following
messages repeated three times:
---IDE------------------------------------------------------
Command: 0x00 Ping
[00 00]

So, CW is trying to ping the MetroTRK, but it refuses to
respond.

What I should do?

NOTE: I am sure that BT COM port is configured OK
because if I run Chat sample on the device instead of TRK,
then I can actually see the ping coming from the CW.

A probable cause could be the bluetooth drivers you have installed on your pc/laptop? I have only ever seen TRK work when manufacturer bluetooth drivers have been installed. I believe it has something to do with Windows using a secure connection for a bluetooth serial port. Instaling the Bluetooth manufacturers drivers should allow you to choose an insecure connection.

I am using Widcomm stack (which came with
the BT dongle) on PC.

I don't beleive the problem is on PC side because,
as I wrote before, I can see the ping bytes from CW
reaching the phone successfully. But, for some reason,
the TRK on the device does not respond to them.

That's what I am using without problems. Only other thing I can think to suggest is to make sure there is nothing else using any COM port on your PC (especially PC Suite/mRouter).

If that fails try the cable.
