Go to Waplinks.com and they have some basic database connectivity applications via WAP. Word of warning if you use ASP remember the 7110 does not support the post method but rather the get method.

I have a problem with running my ASP files on the Nokia simulator.. it gives me unknown or invalide directive:NO STORE whenever i try to load up the asp page... can anyone help?

you'll need to use the 7110 emulator. Point it to a WAP Gateway. If you're using the 6110 or 6150 emulator you'll get that problem.

'post' is quite unstable with my 7110. it will sometime append the first fieldname on to the url. eg.
fieldname : uid
asp-script : postprocess.asp

you'll get a redirection to something like this somethimes
postprocess.aspuid

I had lots of problems with POST's reliability on the 7110 v4.73.
It seemed to perform the POST operation only once, subsequent POSTs were ignored. I never discovered the answer to the problem.

I've just taken delivery of a 7110e v4.8 - the navigation software
has definitely improved. I've yet to test the POST operation on
it though.

Post has stabilized with the release of Nokia 7110 version 4.77 and up.

Then again, there is a sizeable number of lower versions out there. Something worth servicing....

Is there anyway to upgrade the Emulator's ROM? If i were to develop WAP on my Nokia 7110 it'll be very
expensive.

HAHAHAHA. we could not even get our $ paid 7110 phones get ROM upgrades; whats the chance for the FREE EMULATOR?

If you are a developer, these surely are part of the development costs.

However, seeing your WAP applications work on real phones is the best consolation. You will thank yourself when you showed your applications to work on actual phones to your clients.
