    Dear friends,

Can we transfer a file from one phone to another using rfcomm. I need to send an image file from my application to another bluetooth enabled phone.
How can we do this with j2me. This can be done with OBEX, but as of now
only a small number of phones support it. So I expect to do the file transfer
    with rfcomm.

    regards,
    Jaak

    Hi Jaak,

Note that RFCOMM is serial, so i think you should use L2CAP for that (bytes) but you'll need to control everything and pay attention to MTU size, etc. Just get the bytes from you Image, that may work.

    Hope it helps!

Have you read the answers and material in your previous thread?

The Avantana OBEX package I linked to, is a package which can be installed on all JSR-82 capable phones even if they do not ship with the optional OBEX package. As OBEX is not phone-integrated specific, OBEX can be installed afterwards and this Avantana package gives everything you need.

    Friends,

thanks for the reply. But when I googled for 'Avantana OBEX package' I got no results. Instead it asked if it is ventana obex package.
