UDEB version of SIS file...

when using "makesis xxx.pkg" command to make a .sis file (for HW installation), do i by default create an UREL version of .sis file?

if i want to create an UDEB version of sis file, what is the building command?
or any special configuration is needed for making the debug version of the sis file?

There's no such thing as a udeb or urel sis. A sis just contains files, you can put what files in it you want, either dlls/exes which have been built for release or those built for debug.

oh, yes!

When now i put the udeb version of the APP file into the .pkg file, new SIS file is created... however, when i installed the new SIS file to the phone HW, and runned the APP, the app will Crash when click the "http post" menu... It is not crashing when the SIS file having the UREL version of the APP included..

would you know what is the problem? is there anything else i need to add or change in the .pkg file for the UDEB version of the APP?

Unless you have a phone that has a debug version of the OS that has been flashed onto the phone, your application will not run

You can't put a debug version of the os on the phone unless you work for symbian, nokia etc.

But urel and udeb builds are supposed to be compatible so you should run it but why do you want to run a udeb build on the phone anyway?

i wanted to try insystem debugging using bluetooth........ i think it can be done .....

It depends. First of all you need CodeWarrior professional 3.1 or later.

You can only debug UIQ 2.1 or Nokia Series 60 3rd Edition (OS9)

Consult your codewarrior manual on how to setup a debugging environment
