N80 IR Functionality

Hi All Techies around.
I just bought my dream phone, Nokia N80. Was trying to transfer some data via IR through my prev phone. But when I go to menu->Connect->Infrared->open...nothing happens.

What is the problem in getting IR activated?
Has anyone faced the same problem? If yes, pl suggest.

my N80 version is:

Is the IR symbol shown in your device screen, when it is switched own?
