E70 no SIP STUN proxy support?!

I've just bought the fantastic E70, which supposedly should be a genuine SIP VoIP phone with WLAN support.

To my horror, I have discovered that it does not support the use of a STUN proxy. Will this be fixed anytime soon?

Hi,

This isn't the right forum for end user support questions. You need to go to http://www.nokia.com/support and submit a request there. However I doubt that they will comment on missing featrues, only accept it as a suggestion.

I did of course post a support request, before I posted in this forum. The reply was even worse. My request was:

"How do I set the phone to use a STUN proxy?"

The reply was in the line of:

"Go to settings. We cannot help with specific network settings."

I later found out, that the phone does not support STUN. I then called the Nokia help line, who recommended me to go to this forum to get the attention from Nokia.

As I see it: Creating a VoIP phone without the possibility to use a STUN proxy is a major bummer. It would be like creating web support but without DNS, or something like that. Yes it would work in theory, but...

If this is out of the forum scope, then what is the purpose of this forum, apart from praising Nokia...?

I'm sorry if you got bad information from the phone support. There is a forum for end user issues
http://discussions.nokia.co.uk/discussions/ they may help you but it is in England and VoIP is totally different in the USA than in England (USA phones do not allow VoIP)

Perhaps because you had technical knowledge they thought you were a programmer and sent you here. I know that I don't know squat about serial tunneling Bottom line is without knowing who or where you are, I can't really direct your question or solutions to anyone. If you want to send me an e-mail with your location and where, how you got the phone, I will try to help you. BUT it really is nothing I deal with so I may not be of any help.

Again, this is an end user not a deveoper question.

Can any one help me regarding E70 SIP setting actually i tried so many SIP setting on nokia e70 but it failed with "registration failure" message and i search other forums and come to know that nokia E70 is not supportive of SIP calls is it true if not then tell me how could i make configuration on it and get successful registration.

Is nokia E70 really supportive of SIP call??????????
