SATSA - Signing

Im a litle bit confused, and can't find any clear documentation regarding signing the midp2.0 and using the SATSA PKI.

What Im trying to test my SATSA app on my Nokia N80. Do I have to sign the jar with a sertificate verified by Verisign or can I use a self signed sertificate?

With a self signed sertificate I only get a sertificate error on install, and if I don't sign the app I can install it, but getting a UserCredentialManagerException.
Does the SATSA PKI work with unsigned jars?

Is there a developer sertificate out there, or do I have to buy one?

So, to test SATSA PKI app on my phone I can't use a self signed certificate.
I thought it was a way around this problem, I was wrong.
I just bought a N80 to use for this test, bad idea...
For Symbian apps you can get a free developer cetificate (DevCertRequest), why is'nt there something like this for Java?
This makes Java a not prefered language for me.
I hope Im wrong... I like Java
