The Bluetooth SIG (Special Interest Group) is an industry consortium that was founded in 1998 by Nokia, Ericsson, IBM, Intel, and Toshiba. In December 1999, Lucent, Microsoft, and Motorola also joined the promoter group. To date, more than 2,000 Adopter or Associate members have joined the Bluetooth SIG. The Bluetooth SIG is responsible for the Bluetooth Specification and the Bluetooth Qualification Program. Bluetooth Specification v1.1 is available on the Bluetooth SIG website.
