can we disable message received notification

hi,
i am developing an application which catches msg from a particular number and deletes it.

but it always gives a notification "1 message received", and vanished quickly.

but i don't want to show it at all. how can it be done.

are you developing a SNAP Mobile application?
If yes, please be little more specific what you are trying to do. What do you mean by "catching message from a particular number"?
