I have an 8850 and data suite cdrom, but no irda connection.
I do, however, have a DAU9 serial cable.
Unfortunately, when I install the CD, the setup insists that I must use an irda connection.
Is there a way (something like a command line switch) I can use to bypass the irda / phone check so I can use the serial cable instead?
The only reason I need this is to use the AT commands to control the phone (i'm writing software using VB)
I tried to just install modem drivers from the cd, but that didn't work at all!
Also, can someone point me to a good reference area, where I can find information on controlling phones without the need for installing data suite. I don't really need the fancy ringtone and graphics stuff, just sending and receiving messages.
Thanks in advance.
Glenn.
