Nokia E70 hangs while trying to read mail

Hi!

I configured my e70 to read mail from an IMAP Server via SSL on Port 993. This worked fine until once my phone crashed when I tried to read my mails with no network available. Since then every try to connect to the mail server (via WLAN or GPRS) resulted in the mail application hanging while trying to connect until I switch off the phone.
Has anyone a similar experience or a solution how to reset the preferences of the mail application without resetting the whole phone and loosing everything?

Addendum: I found out the problem occurres only for my mailbox using SSL, not if I try and create a mailbox using a normal POP3 account without SSL.

I solved the problem now by resetting the phone totally. Right now everything seems to work again except that I can not start any java application any more.

Are you getting any error messages while trying to start Java applications?

Have you tried installing new Java applications on your E70? Does it work fine?

Is there any other solution to this problem than resetting the phone completely? I really wouldn't want to go there since I'm not too confident with PC Suite backups.
