unable to install jar

Hi,

I have a nokia E70 but I am unable to install and JAR application. When I to install it gets to about 80% complete, stop and then gives the message "unable to install". A friend has the same phone and can install Java apps without any problems. I turned off the certification check and enabled install any app, but that does not help.

I wrote my own one form "hello world" app too, no luck there.

It's getting on my nerves now. Must be something messed on the phone.

Anyone any ideas?

Hi stevenpannell! Welcome to Nokia Discussion Boards!!

The unable to install error message might be due to some different reasons. Is your app running on the emulator? Please make sure that the JAD/MF entries are correct and they match each other. Also ensure that you have enough memory remaining in your device. Is your app signed? Did you tried sending your app to your friends E70? Does it work fine?

Thanks for your reply. I have now tried my app on another E70 and it works fine! must really be something messed up on my phone... but I wonder what?

Is your device's phone software an operator specific variant ? also Is your and your friends E70 having the same phone software version ?

SOLVED!

I reformatted the phone and now it works better then ever! Can install no problem. Seems something was amiss so reformat did it.

For those interested use green key + 3 + *

beware! all contacts, messages etc are lost (back it up first). best remove your SD card before this action too.
