reduce inquiry time...?

hello folks, do you know if is there a way to reduce the inquiry time through
J2ME(10.24s by default)?, i need it be approximately 2 to 5 seconds.
if not exist a way through java, do you know another alternative way?, whatever?
if I cancel the inquiry process i lost the addresses of discovered devices?

hi peter in that link, the purpose is increase the inquiry time length, but i want the inquiry process reduces it's time length, i'd like to know if canceling the inquiry process don't losts the discovered bluetooth devices' addresses because in that case i can control the time length by canceling the inquiry,
