Device font in S60 Platform SDK 3rd ED

Hi, does someone know the way how to configure device font in S60 Platform SDK 3rd ED?

I have some problems when using device font together with Flash Lite applications. Sometimes device font used is so small on emulator screen, and I cannot find a way to fix this issue.

Same device font acts perfectly on actual mobile phone but problem exist in emulator.

I'm not sure is this emulator issue or do I use Flash 8 somehow wrong.

Any help appreciated.

welcome aboard!

I wont expect exact rendering as on real device (note that in-flash emulator also has such limitations),
try with screen:

Double Portrait (352x416)

which is default and docs mentions it as "primary" display mode where are applications work "as expected" (read in release notes),
maybe you will got better rendering,

Just found that Flash Lite document behaves like:
- even if you decide device font in Flash 8, font size choice still matters.

I thought that document can have only device font choices the actual phone has, but it seems that font is still rendered by flash and can have more different sizes.

So it was not SKD issue, the solution was on Flash side.

Still if someone knows how SDK chooses device font, please let me know.

hi,
there are .ttf (TrueType) fonts shipped with SDK but how they are related to acutal display rendering and how that could be changed - no idea,
Sun WTK are configurable by .properties files (inluding own skin, different fonts, etc) but no idea how to configure Nokia SDK emulator - most probably that is how it works: Nokia is "real device" emulator - Sun WTK is "abstract" one which could be customized - with some efforts - to look like Nokia device emulator, that is probably why WTK is configurable but not Nokia,

I find that when I call fontHeight() on the Nokia N80, the number that is returned is 4 or 5 pixels larger than the actual font height. Do you think this is true for other S60 3rd edition devices? I am not using the screen double size as the font becomes HUGE on a doubled screen.
