SIS install fails in S60 V3

I have tried to install my app on a Nokia E60 phone (S60 V3). The application works well on the emulator.
- GCCE-compiles without problems.
- My UIDs in the MMP-File are UID 0x100039CE 0xAEF2D1A0 so they are in the unprotected range.
- SIS file created with makesis
- certificate created with makekeys
- signed with signsis (self signed without any input from symbian)
- set in phone appl. manager / Settings / SW-installation to "all"

When I try to install my SIS now, I see the following screens:

- "Install <app_name>" yes
- "security warning ..." continue
- "Details" continue
- "Install 67kB to ..." select
- "Installing" , progress bar

some seconds later

- "unable to install"


This is a very common message, what can be the problem?

A protected API used with an unsufficiend certificate?
Or an error in the package file ?

Look at the comments from some developers about "Unable to install" message. There are some possible causes.

I am facing same prob like Holler. my device is N80. i read http://blogs.forum.nokia.com/view_entry.html?id=93 comments and apply but still face same error.
-SIS file create by makesis
-key file Create by makekeys
-Certificate create by using "Symbian Developer Certificate Request" then download from www.symbiansigned.com side.
-for Sign use sigsis

When I try to install my SIS , I see the following screens:

- "Install 790kB to ..." select
- "Installing" , progress bar

some seconds later

- "unable to install"

I have found my error with Antony's hint:
it was the pkg file. I used a file from an other application, modified it, but I forgot to change one private folder name to my UID3 number:

"backup_registration.xml" -"!:\private\AEF2D1A0\backup_registration.xml"


In your case, i find two items a little bit strange:

1.) the folder you took for the phone:
"..\..\..\Epoc32\release\winscw\udeb\hello.exe" is wrong, take the gcce compiler output:
"..\..\..\epoc32\release\gcce\urel\hello.exe" and so on.

2.) the UID2:
I'm not shure, but all the examples use 0x100039CE for S60 V3.

The UID2 should be the same for all executables. So it is fine to have 0x100039CE. The UID3 that makes our application unique.
