secure sms messaging

hello guys..
i'm interested in developing secure sms messaging...i'm doing the tutorial under A Brief Introduction to Secure SMS Messaging in MIDP by Nokia. Instead using one encryption algorithm, i'd implement three encryption algorithms.Only the problem is how to let the receiver know which encryption algorithm did the sender use to encrypt the sms text. Can someone in this forum guide me n thank you very much..

Append your encrypted data after some sort of unencrypted "header" field (you might have to waste a whole byte, even if you only need two bits) that tells the receiver what the encryption algorithm used was (the receiver then strips off the header & from it determines what to use for the actual data).
