Developement using carbide.c++ on symbian os and UIQ 3rd edition

Hello Friends,
I am new to mobile technology programming. I am learning symbian and carbide.c++. I am trying to create a small application with some menus and a splash screen. I have managed to create the menus but getting difficulty in creating the splash screen :confused: . Can any one help me. Please tell me how to create a slash screen from the start.
