I used both Carbid.c++e Express and the trial Carbide.c++ Pro development IDEs to create a HelloWorld app. using the 3rd Edition SDK.

Selected phone (GCCE) release for both.

    Compiled.

Express: .sis unable to install due to certificate. So I used a developer cert. from symbiansign. Installation fine until progress bar almost full, "Unable to install" error appears.

Trial Pro: .sis able to install without any problem.

Still can't figure out whats wrong? UID? Or the .pkg configuration? Or something else?

After copying all the UIDs from the project properties from Pro to Express, I can succesfully install the app on the phone.

But now, the app seems to crash as soon as I attempt to load it.

I do not know what does the AppWizard of Carbide.c++ Pro choose for UID, but Express chooses totally random UID-s (thus most of them are wrong). You should replace its first digit with a suitable one (A, E, perhaps F - check https://www.symbiansigned.com/app/page/uidfaq) on generation-time, and then everything is working fine.

Are you saying it may have caused my app. to crash?

Although I would not mention an installation error as a crash, yes: improper UID-s prevent your application from installating.

As soon as I copied the UIDs from the Carbide Pro to Express. The installation went fine. So i guess the UID was allowed. But this time application just crash.

Least likely to be coding error as its a demo app. from Carbide itself.

I find it quite hard to solve the problem as I dont receive any error messages from the phone.
