Programmatically set auto lock time and set password

Hi.
I am searching API that allows program to make changes to device security settings. Particularly I am searching way to set the device lock on/off programmatically and a way to set the pin codes and security code.
Preferred platforms are Series 80 and 60.

I know there are programs i.e. PhoneSecure that locks devices, but I wan't to include these capabilities to my own program.

And if there are no open API for this is it possible to licence such API?

I know it's possible because i see a lot of commercial application using that.

I need it because i want to write app which will automatically send password via gprs (that part is not a problem) to remote server and actually set that password in phone , and set auto lock period.

Also want the same information , can we set the " phone lock time period & passwords through a program ". the data will be sent through a GPRS connection .
so are there any public APIs to change the security settings of the phone .

i am also searching for the same APIs which modifies my Phone's lock & password settings . So are there any public APIs for that or do we need the partnership program to get those APIs ?

You can check if the feature is part of the ex-open-source code, http://symbiandump.sourceforge.net
If yes, you can check if it can be triggered via some API.
