    hi
my application work well when installed on phone (S60 OS v9) but when it is installed on Memory card then it fails to read a file (which i think is not created as well). I haven't hard coded any path and use

    ""-"!:\private\e74da056\myFile.txt",FN

in my pkg file for deletion of file.

now can any one tell me what could be the problem

    waiting for ur replay
    regards
    Muhammad Shahazad Amin

how do you construct the file ?
did you remember to give the drive letter with the path, and did you make sure that the path exists before constructing the file.

    first of all
    thanks for replay yucca
Actually I have to create the file in the "\private\<SID>\" so i think we should not hard code the drive and path, should i? We have to do some read/ write operations on that file.

you shouldn't hard code, but you need to specify it when you are using it in your phone, thus you need to make the drive selection on run time.

In addition to symbianyucca's comment, you could use RFs::PrivatePath()
