Can Carbide.c++ Express Support chinese app developing ?

I am using carbide.c++ express 1.1 with S60_2nd_FP2_CW sdk to develop chinese display application on the target mobile .

I've defined the chinese string in the *.loc files and save it into the utf-8 formats,again I wrote the CHARACTER_SET UTF8 into the project.rss ,project_caption.rss

at last when i build the project and run the emulator ,i found that the chinese string can't display correctly .they became "口口口" or "???"

so ,I want to ask that does carbide.c++ express support chinese application display or maybe it's the other problem about this ?

Symbian OS默认只支持英文，如果需要中文支持，需要在rss中加入 CHARACTER_SET UTF8。而对应的字符串的编辑有点麻烦。对于.loc文件中的中文，你必须保存为UTF-8的格式，使用Carbide C++内置的编辑器似乎是不可以的，可以用记事本编辑这个文件，然后另保存为UTF-8格式。然而这个时候又会引发另一个问题——编译失败！为什么呢？因为保存为这种格式之后，文件的最前面添加了几个UTF-8字符，使得我们无法正确编译rss文件！需要把它在Carbide C++打开然后手动删掉最前面的字符。这个时候应该就可以了。顺便问一句，楼主是中国人吧？我就用中文了，不好意思。

纠正一下，使用Carbide C++的编辑器也是可以的。步骤是：Properties -> Info ->Text file encoding -> Other -> UTF-8
