"The first device that supports Nokia VoIP Release 2.0 is the Nokia N80 Mobile Internet Edition."

Is there any reason why the non-Mobile Internet Edition cannot support this?

What could be the approach if i wanted a to build a portable VoIp client which should work on both series 60 and UIQ phones..and moving forward i also want to make sure that the app can be ported to PalmOS, J2ME etc as well..?

To start with Symbian what api/library to use to accomplish the same?

    Cheers

N80 Internet Edition and E61 (PR3) support Nokia VoIP client 2.0. At least E61 is end user upgradable to release PR3 with Nokia Software update tool. I do not have an N80 so cannot see if allows you to update your phone to N80 IE.
