    HI experts
I created my Symbian application by making changes to some example.

To change its name I changed the application caption and short caption in the rss files.

But After the application is installed on the handset. It is still showing the example application name in the Tools>>Application menu. So if user wants to uninstall the apllication she will not be able to distinguish my application.

    What can be the reason.

I think it i the application ID problem.
    Can it be the reason.

Are you refering to Application Manager?
If yes then change the name of your .pkg file to the desired one. Then create .Sis file.

    Thanks Kiran
You guessed right I was referring to Application Manager only.
    I will try your suggestion.
Actually I am using MS.net and am not able to change the pkg file name at the first. Will try more :-)
    Thanks for your valuable reply.

    Hi,
And one more thing to change:
-Search for old name in your .pkg file.(Mostly within first 10 lines).
    -Replace it with new name.

Previous suggestion will give you new name on the receiving of installation message for your .Sis file.

It will make you more clear once you experience it. ;)

You would find .pkg file in your Sis folder in your project creation path. (Generally)

    hi
When I changes the name of pkg file and rebuilds, the IDE again creates the pkg file with the old name only.
    And the problem persist.
Can you provide some more info please.

    That's what i suspected. ;)
Okies. Now do following change from within your .NET 2003 IDE:
Open your project-> Project (from meny bar) -> Carbide.Vs properties-> Update .pkg file(Uncheck it)
Now you can update your .pkg file entries.

    Regards.
    Kiran.
