Enhanced Data rates for GSM Evolution

Hi All,
Is it possible to develop an application with Symbian C++ using
"Enhanced Data rates for GSM Evolution "i.e.> EDGE technology.
I have developed an application usiing HSCSD,because Symbian provided ETEL APIS for the same.Does Symbian do so for "EDGE"?

Just open a packet data connection (any IP connection using a packet data access point) and it will automatically use EDGE, if EDGE is available (and the phone supports it). Otherwise regular GPRS will be used. (And, of course, EDGE is a 2.5G enhancement, and does not apply to 3G/WCDMA/UMTS).
