hwo to convert .bmp file in .mif format

hi,

I take one .bmp file and by using bmconv command create .mbm file. but its of 0KB so its of no use. i am using symbian 9. i want to create a .bmp file to .mbm and after .mif so that i can change icon of my application.

Please provide me some guidelines to do so.. and how can i make use of that 0kb .mbm file how can i convert tham easily..
Please provide me steps to so so..
