I don't think any current models can be used as a "modem" via WLAN. I don't think there is any software support for the phone to act as a router from one to the other. Bluetooth is the technology to use for that.

Can any phone's wlan and GPRS work simultaneously?

If a phone can, is it possible to design a software based on symbian to achieve that purpose?

I don't know the answer to that, but I don't see why not. I can't get my N80 to connect to WLAN at the moment but it should be easy to test by using WLAN in one browser and GPRS in the other.

If they can both connect at the same time then it should be possible to write some software to act as a proxy server.
