Overview

The Bluetooth Engine API provides high-level access to Bluetooth settings and device management. There is a compatibility break in the Bluetooth Engine API between S60 3rd Edition, Feature Pack 1 and Feature Pack 2. This is not an official S60 SDK API, but it is provided as part of the SDK API Plug-in packages for all S60 3rd Edition platform versions.

Description

For performance reasons, the Bluetooth Engine DLL in S60 3rd Edition, bteng.dll, has been divided into several smaller DLLs from S60 3rd Edition, FP2 onwards. For applications using Bluetooth Engine API, this change causes both binary and source compatibility breaks between those platform versions.

Solution

Applications must be adapted to the new version of the Bluetooth Engine API on S60 3rd Edition, Feature Pack 2 devices.
