Overview

Trying to create a SipClientConnection using a host address, which starts with a one-digit octet (like 9.xx.xx.xx) or an octet beginning with 0 (e.g., 09.xx.xx.xx or 009.xx.xx.xx ) fails.

Description

When trying to create a SipClientConnection using a host address, which starts with an octet comprised of one digit (like 9.xx.xx.xx) or beginning with 0 (e.g., 09.xx.xx.xx or 009.xx.xx.xx ), the operation fails with the following exception: java.lang.IllegalArgumentException: illegal hostname, top-level domain cannot begin with a numeral: "9.xx.xx.xx"

Solution

This situation is expected to be corrected in later S60 3rd Edition releases, but there is no other workaround available.
