Description
The problem is mainly observed when:
- S60 3rd Edition devices try to place a data call to S60 3rd Edition, FP1 devices.
- S60 3rd Edition, FP1 devices try to place a data call to S60 3rd Edition, FP1 devices.
In both cases answering the call throws error -8072 on the receiving device. However, the issue cannot be reproduced in Europe with European variants of the device and in local networks, and it seems to occur more commonly in the United States, Mexico, and Brazil.
The error as such comes from the TSY level, indicating that the call was dropped at the other end or on the network side. It is also known that in certain network conditions the initialization of the data calls fail, reportedly with a -8072 error received on the listening side. It seems that the call goes through but something that happens at the receiving end causes the call to drop.
Solution
No known solution.
