Description
S60 3rd Edition and 3rd Edition FP1 apps that use the ETel 3rd Party API (CTelephony) for retrieving location information (that is, area code and cell ID) may receive false notifications indicating that both location area code and cell ID are 0. This happens if the application is running while a phone call or data transfer is initiated, in progress, or being terminated.
Solution
No complete solution is currently available. In some situations canceling the pending network information change notification request followed by a call for retrieving the current network information can help restore the device's location awareness.
This problem is expected to be fixed in future firmware releases.
