Description

When using a datagram connection (UDP) in a MIDlet on S60 devices, the underlying network connection is not closed when the MIDlet closes the connection.

Even if the MIDlet is closed, the network connection stays active.
After the MIDlet has been terminated, the user can close the network connection (GPRS, EDGE, etc.) by pressing the red key (end key).

This issue affects all S60 phones up to S60 3rd Edition.

Solution

There is no workaround for this problem.
