Overview

Opening a WAP session from a URL embedded in an SMS message

Description

Is it possible to open a WAP session directly from an URL embedded in an SMS message with these devices: Nokia 3100, Nokia 3300, Nokia 5100, Nokia 6100, Nokia 6220, Nokia 6610, Nokia 6800, Nokia 7210, and Nokia 7250i?
Yes, all these devices support this functionality.
When viewing an SMS, press Options and select Use detail. Select Web address and press Select. Now you can choose "Go to" to access the URL immediately with your WAP browser default settings or save the URL as a bookmark. The link can also point directly to the downloadable resource, for example, an image, a MIDI ring tone, or a Java application.
It is also possible to use WAP Push to send a URL in an SMS message to the device. All the listed Nokia devices support the WAP Push functionality according to the specification.
