Overview
You cannot add phone numbers containing space characters by using the PIM API in Series 40 devices.
Description
You can add, edit, and a remove contact's telephone number by using PIM API's Contact.TEL field. However, you cannot use a phone number with space characters in it, because it is not possible in the contacts application either. If you use space characters, you will get javax.microedition.pim.PIMException. Note that using space characters is allowed in Symbian-based devices.
Solution
Do not use space characters in phone numbers.
