Overview

Using Instant Messaging Private User Identity (IMPI)

Description

Private user identity (IMPI) is assigned by the home operator, and it is used to identify the IMS subscription and authentication method during registration and de-registration. Is an API needed to discover the IMPI, or is it done by the SIP stack?
The SIP stack takes care of these, the application only needs to select the SIP profile to use. The SIP stack then registers the profile and handles authentication by the profile settings. The application does not need to know what authentication is being used.
