Description
MIDlets signed with the VeriSign code signing certificate cannot be installed on Series 40 5th Edition Feature Pack 1 devices. The reason for this can be found in the OCSP (Online Certificate Status Protocol) implementation on these phones. According to VeriSign, the affected devices do not have the intermediate certificate which the AMS expects.
How to reproduce
- Create a MIDlet.
- Sign it with the VeriSign certificate.
- Try to install the MIDlet by downloading it from a server over the air (OTA) or use, for example, the PC Suite Application Installer.
When downloading and installing the MIDlet, the no valid certificate error is displayed.
If the Application Installer is used, the MIDlet is installed on the phone but the MIDlet cannot be launched.
Nokia Developer Wiki has a test MIDlet with VeriSign signature.
NOTE: The signature of the MIDlet is valid from 29 August 2007 to 15 September 2008. For testing, set the current date of the device according to the defined signature validity period.
Solution
This problem has been fixed in the latest firmware versions of Series 40 5th Edition, Feature Pack 1 devices.

I tried the latest firmware upgrade for Nokia 5610 XpressMusic. I still got the "No Valid Certificate" error with Nokia 5610d-1 V04.81 22-11-07.
Is the fix already available for download.
Thank you.

Trying to download this certificate, it spends a while "Loading" then we get "Downloading failed". Is there another way to load this certificate on the phone?
Our code signing certificate works fine on v03.70 and earlier.
Any ideas?
Is there an updated version of this certificate?
Hi, The intermediate certificate available as a fix has now expired on 16/07/2009. Is there an updated version of this?
Thanks, Andrew

Please raise with product support. I suspect you will need to reflash your phone - anything you added since your last backup will be lost.hamishwillee 06:59, 23 January 2012 (EET)
