"Web" has a number of subcategories which are broadly divided into those related to web apps and those which are intended for use in a browser in the following sections. You can see all the categories at the end of this page.

Web apps

Web apps are apps that look "native", but which are written using web technologies like HTML, CSS and JavaScript. There are different web app solutions for Symbian and Series 40, and it is also possible to write apps in HTML5 that will run in a high performance browser.

Browser technologies

In addition, there are a number of technologies that are intended to be used with a mobile or desktop browser:

• Mobile Web Templates
  • UI Templates that can be used in a mobile site
• Mobile Web Design Patterns
• HERE Maps API (for Javascript)
  • JavaScript API for accessing HERE Maps in a desktop browser. Note this is not a wiki "subcategory"
