How to add Nokia Lumia Skins to the Windows Phone Emulator

This article shows how to change skin of Windows phone 7 Emulator and apply skin of Nokia Lumia 800 or Nokia Lumia 710.

Overview

Telerik provides skins of Nokia Lumia 800 and 710 for the Windows Phone Emulator.

-To download skins, first register at http://www.telerik.com. Once you register you can download skins from here.

Once you have the skin zip file downloaded from telerik site, you need to follow below steps to apply skin.

Backup the existing files from the emulator folder.(on a 64-bit machine, this is “C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft XDE\1.0\”)
Extract the Zip
Choose which skin you prefer - black/white or Telerik branded
Copy the files from the appropriate folder
Paste them in your Windows Phone Emulator folder overwriting the old files (please backup before that so you can revert them)
Re-launch the emulator

After applying skins, the Windows Phone Emulator appears as shown in the screenshots below.
