How to change the Java API access settings on S60 phones

S60 phones up to 3rd Edition (inclusive)
To be able to see the available API access settings for a MIDlet and to change them, one has to navigate to Application Manager. This application can be usually found in the Settings folder.
After opening the Application Manager, scroll down to the MIDlet in question. Select Options->Suite settings to see and change the settings for each of the functional groups.
S60 3rd Edition Feature Pack 1 phones
To be able to see the available API access settings for a MIDlet and to change them, one has to navigate to Application Manager (App. Mgr.). This application is on 5700 XPressMusic phone in Settings->Data mgr. folder.
After opening the Application Manager, scroll down to the MIDlet in question. Press the middle key to see a menu and select "Open" to view and change the settings for each of the functional groups.


On N81 (at least mine from a spanish telco) it is little different: - Settings -> Application Manager (Gestor de Aplicaciones). - Then scroll to find the desired application and select Open (Abrir).
It is almost the same as the others but it says "open" instead of "suite permissions", which made me think it meant "open application".
N81 is a S60 3rd Edition FP1 phone. If I understood your description correctly, the menu structure is about the same in your phone as what has been described in the article
