Description
According to MIDP specifications, whitespace characters are ignored before and after the JAD attribute value.
If the user tries to install a MIDlet where the JAD file has extra whitespace characters after the last JAD attribute/value pair, the installation fails with the prompt Compulsory attributes missing.
How to reproduce
- Take the JAD file of any MIDlet and add whitespace characters after the last JAD attribute/value pair.
- Try to install the MIDlet with the modified JAD file. For the affected devices, the installation fails with Compulsory attributes missing.
Solution
Remove extra whitespace characters from JAD files.
This issue is expected to be fixed in future software versions, starting with S60 5th Edition.
